Product Overview

Built for Reinforced and Thick-Wall Hoses

A standard narrow-band hose clamp can concentrate force in a small area of the hose. On reinforced or thick-wall hoses, this may cause uneven sealing, local deformation, clamp movement or repeated retightening during service.

The DISLAB PRECISION single-bolt hose clamp uses a wider and heavier band to spread the clamping load over a larger contact area. The formed bridge covers the opening beneath the tightening assembly, while the solid trunnions keep the bolt aligned as the clamp diameter is reduced.

This construction is suitable for demanding industrial hose connections exposed to vibration, pressure changes, outdoor conditions and repeated assembly.

Important: The clamp must be selected according to the installed hose outside diameter, hose construction, fitting geometry, working pressure, temperature and service environment.

Key Features

Designed for Stable and Controlled Tightening

Each component supports secure load transfer, consistent hose compression and reliable performance in demanding installations.

01

High Clamping Force

The single hex-head bolt provides direct and controlled tightening. M5, M6, M8 or M10 bolts are selected according to clamp diameter and construction.

02

Wide-Band Load Distribution

Band widths from 18 to 26 mm distribute pressure across more of the hose wall, helping reduce concentrated compression on reinforced hoses.

03

Formed Bridge Construction

The bridge supports the opening beneath the tightening assembly and helps maintain pressure around the circumference of the hose.

04

Solid Trunnions

Solid trunnions support the bolt and maintain alignment during tightening, repeated installation and demanding industrial use.

05

Hose-Friendly Band Edges

Formed and finished band edges reduce sharp contact with the hose surface and help limit cutting, twisting and localized deformation.

06

Multiple Material Options

W1, W2, W4 and W5 configurations allow the clamp construction to be matched to cost, corrosion resistance and operating environment.

Clamp Structure

Four Main Components Working Together

The connection strength does not come from the bolt alone. The band, bridge and trunnions work together to apply controlled radial pressure around the hose.

B

Hex-Head Bolt

Provides direct mechanical tightening and controlled reduction of the clamp diameter.

T

Trunnions

Support the bolt and help maintain correct alignment as the clamp is tightened.

R

Formed Bridge

Covers the area beneath the tightening assembly and supports more uniform circumferential pressure.

W

Wide Metal Band

Spreads the clamping load across a larger hose surface than a narrow-band clamp.

Operating Principle

How the Single-Bolt Clamp Works

Correct positioning and controlled tightening are essential for reliable hose-to-fitting sealing.

01

Install the Hose

Push the hose fully over the fitting before positioning the clamp.

02

Position the Clamp

Place the clamp behind the fitting bead or raised hose-retention section.

03

Tighten the Bolt

The trunnions move toward each other and reduce the clamp diameter.

04

Distribute Pressure

The bridge and wide band apply controlled pressure around the hose.

No universal torque value applies to every installation. Correct tightening depends on clamp diameter, bolt size, hose hardness, reinforcement, fitting geometry, working pressure and operating temperature.
Problems Addressed

What This Clamp Helps Solve

The design is intended for connections where light-duty clamps cannot provide sufficient load distribution, stability or corrosion resistance.

Uneven Clamping Pressure
The Problem

Narrow clamps may apply excessive pressure in one area while leaving insufficient pressure beneath the tightening assembly.

The Solution

The formed bridge and wide band help distribute the load more evenly around the hose.

Clamp Loosening Under Vibration
The Problem

Pumps, engines and mobile machinery can expose connections to repeated vibration and movement.

The Solution

A heavy band, solid trunnions and direct bolt tightening provide a more stable connection.

Reinforced Hose Damage
The Problem

Overtightening a narrow band can cut into the hose cover or create concentrated deformation.

The Solution

The wider contact surface reduces localized loading when the correct size and torque are used.

Outdoor and Marine Corrosion
The Problem

Carbon-steel clamps can deteriorate when exposed to water, salt and corrosive operating conditions.

The Solution

W2, W4 and W5 options allow the material to be matched to the actual environment.

Frequent Retightening
The Problem

An undersized or light-duty clamp may move or lose sealing force during operation.

The Solution

Correct sizing and a heavier tightening assembly can reduce maintenance caused by clamp movement.

Thick-Wall Hose Compression
The Problem

Reinforced rubber hoses resist compression more strongly than light automotive or household hoses.

The Solution

The robust single-bolt construction provides the mechanical strength needed for these hose types.

Selection Guide

How to Select the Correct Clamp

Selecting a clamp by nominal hose size alone can result in insufficient adjustment range or excessive hose compression.

01

Measure the Installed Hose

Measure the outside diameter after the hose has been pushed fully onto the fitting.

02

Select the Diameter Range

The installed diameter should fall comfortably within the clamp’s specified adjustment range.

03

Confirm Hose Construction

  • Smooth rubber hose
  • Fabric-reinforced hose
  • Wire-reinforced hose
  • Silicone or PVC hose
04

Choose the Material

Consider indoor or outdoor use, freshwater, saltwater, chemicals, cleaning procedures and service life.

05

Confirm Pressure and Temperature

The hose, fitting, clamp and installation method must all be suitable for the operating conditions.

06

Provide Application Details

Send the fitting size, hose material, working pressure, temperature, environment and required quantity.

Customer Requirement

The hoses were installed between water-supply pumps and distribution manifolds. Standard perforated hose clamps had required frequent retightening after transportation and repeated field installation. Minor water seepage had also appeared around several larger hose connections.

Technical FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers about naming, sizing, materials, installation and application limits.

What is the correct international name for this clamp?

The most accurate name is heavy-duty single-bolt hose clamp. It may also be described as a robust hose clamp or single-bolt robust clamp.

Is this the same product as a conventional T-bolt hose clamp?

No. Both products are used for demanding hose connections, but their tightening structures are different.

This product uses a bridge and trunnion assembly with a single bolt. A conventional T-bolt clamp normally uses a T-shaped bolt, nut and a different loop or trunnion arrangement.

How do I determine the correct clamp diameter?

Measure the outside diameter of the hose after it has been installed on the fitting. Nominal hose inside diameter alone is not sufficient because wall thickness and fitting expansion change the installed outside diameter.

Why does band thickness change with clamp diameter?

Larger clamp diameters generally require wider or thicker bands to maintain strength and resist deformation during tightening. Bolt size may also increase from M5 or M6 to M8 or M10.

Which material should I select for outdoor use?

W2 is suitable for many outdoor and moisture-exposed applications. W4 is more appropriate for continuously wet environments requiring all-stainless construction.

For saltwater and more corrosive conditions, W5 with AISI 316 stainless steel should be considered.

Can this clamp be used on marine hoses?

Yes, provided the material, hose, fitting and operating conditions are compatible. AISI 316 stainless steel W5 construction is normally preferred where saltwater exposure is a primary concern.

Can a single-bolt hose clamp be reused?

It may be reused if the band, bridge, trunnions, bolt and threads remain undamaged.

  • Check for band deformation or permanent stretching.
  • Inspect the bolt and threads for damage.
  • Check for cracks, corrosion or bent trunnions.
  • Replace clamps used in safety-critical or severely corrosive applications according to the maintenance procedure.
Does the wide band prevent hose damage?

The wider band distributes force across a larger surface and can reduce localized cutting or deformation. Hose damage may still occur if the clamp is incorrectly sized, positioned improperly or overtightened.

What is the recommended tightening torque?

There is no universal tightening torque for every single-bolt clamp. Correct torque depends on:

  • Clamp diameter and bolt size
  • Band material and construction
  • Hose hardness and reinforcement
  • Fitting geometry
  • Operating pressure and temperature

Torque should be confirmed through assembly testing or the equipment manufacturer’s specification.

Can it replace a crimped fitting on a high-pressure hydraulic hose?

No. It should not automatically be treated as a replacement for a crimped hydraulic fitting. High-pressure hydraulic systems require a complete connection method designed and tested for the specified operating pressure.

Can DISLAB PRECISION produce non-standard diameters?

Yes. Custom diameters, band widths, material combinations, bolt sizes, finishes, markings and packaging can be evaluated according to the application and required order quantity.
