Product Overview

Fast Adjustment for Raised and Spiral Hose Profiles

Conventional flat-band clamps may rest on top of an external spiral, wire reinforcement or corrugated ridge. This can reduce band contact and create uneven pressure around the hose connection.

The German-type bridge hose clamp uses a formed bridge section to span the raised hose profile. The surrounding band can therefore sit more evenly against the effective sealing diameter. An integrated thumb handle allows the screw mechanism to be rotated by hand during installation and routine servicing.

01

Formed Bridge Structure

The bridge crosses a raised spiral or corrugated section instead of forcing the flat band directly onto the reinforcement.

02

Integrated Hand Adjustment

The thumb handle supports rapid tightening and loosening where clamps must be inspected, cleaned or removed regularly.

03

Controlled Worm-Drive Action

The screw engages the perforated band to provide gradual diameter adjustment and controlled positioning around the hose.

04

Multiple Material Classes

W1, W2, W4 and W5 configurations are available for different cost, moisture exposure and corrosion-resistance requirements.

Clamp Structure

Built Around the Hose Reinforcement Profile

Correct bridge positioning is essential. The bridge should align with the raised reinforcement so that the remaining band surface can maintain consistent contact around the hose body.

A

Perforated Band

Wraps around the hose and engages with the worm-drive screw for adjustable diameter control.

B

Raised Bridge Section

Crosses the external spiral, ridge or wire reinforcement without forcing the flat band onto the raised profile.

C

Worm-Drive Housing

Keeps the screw and band aligned while transferring adjustment force into the clamp circumference.

D

Thumb Handle

Provides a practical gripping surface for frequent installation, adjustment and disassembly by hand.

Product Composition

Band, Bridge, Housing, Screw and Handle

Each component has a distinct function. The band supplies circumferential contact, the bridge follows the raised hose structure, and the worm-drive assembly provides controlled size adjustment.

01

Smooth Band Edges

Finished edges help reduce cutting and concentrated marking on flexible hose surfaces during installation.

02

Stable Component Alignment

The housing keeps the screw engaged with the perforated band through repeated diameter adjustment.

03

Handle Material Options

PC, PE, carbon-steel and stainless-steel handle configurations can be discussed according to the application and order.

Problems Solved

Why Use a Bridge Clamp with a Handle?

This configuration combines the hose-profile compatibility of a bridge clamp with the service convenience of a hand-operated adjustment mechanism.

Reduces Uneven Contact on Spiral Hoses

The bridge passes over the raised reinforcement so the surrounding band can contact the hose more evenly.

Speeds Up Routine Maintenance

Operators can loosen or reposition the clamp without first locating a screwdriver or nut driver.

Improves Grip During Adjustment

A shaped handle offers a larger gripping surface than the screw head, especially during frequent assembly and disassembly.

Supports Different Corrosion Environments

W1 through W5 configurations allow the clamp materials to be matched more closely to moisture, outdoor and chemical exposure.

Typical Applications

Designed for Reinforced, Corrugated and Frequently Serviced Hose Connections

The final clamp selection should be based on the hose profile, installed outside diameter, fitting design, pressure, temperature and environmental exposure.

Representative applications on spiral hose, corrugated ducting, machinery and industrial fluid-transfer connections.

Spiral and Corrugated Hose

Suitable for flexible ducting, suction hose and externally reinforced hose where a conventional flat-band clamp may sit unevenly on the raised profile.

Industrial Fluid Transfer

Used on selected water, oil and air-transfer hose assemblies where the hose, fitting and clamp configuration have been properly matched.

Agricultural and Irrigation Equipment

Supports serviceable hose connections on pumps, irrigation lines and agricultural machinery exposed to regular inspection or replacement.

Machinery Cooling and Ventilation

A practical option for reinforced cooling hoses, ventilation ducting and flexible equipment connections that require convenient maintenance access.

Frequently Asked Questions

German-Type Bridge Hose Clamp with Handle FAQ

Practical answers for buyers selecting clamps for reinforced and irregular hose profiles.

How is this clamp different from a standard worm-drive hose clamp?

A standard worm-drive clamp uses a largely flat circular band. This product adds a formed bridge section that crosses an external spiral, wire or corrugated ridge, allowing the remaining band to sit more evenly around the hose.

Can the clamp be installed without a screwdriver?

Yes. The integrated handle is intended for hand adjustment during installation, inspection and removal. The required tightening method should still be validated for the actual hose assembly and operating conditions.

What hose information is needed to select the bridge position?

Provide the installed hose outside diameter, spiral direction, spiral pitch, ridge height and clear photographs or a technical drawing of the hose surface.

Which material class should be used in wet or corrosive environments?

W2, W4 and W5 provide progressively different stainless-steel component configurations. The correct choice depends on water, salt, chemical and outdoor exposure. W5 uses SS316 components for more demanding corrosion conditions.

Are additional diameters and handle materials available?

Additional diameter ranges and PC, PE, carbon-steel or stainless-steel handle configurations can be discussed. Availability depends on the required size, quantity and production specification.

Can the clamp be selected only by hose inside diameter?

No. Clamp selection should be based on the outside diameter of the hose after it has been installed over the fitting. Hose wall thickness, reinforcement profile and fitting dimensions can change the required clamp range.

Is this clamp suitable for high-pressure hose assemblies?

Pressure suitability cannot be determined from the clamp alone. It depends on the complete hose, fitting, clamp, installation torque and operating-temperature combination. Assembly testing is recommended before production use.
