Also known as double stack self-locking washer, the DIN 25201 wedge lock washer utilizes an advanced wedge tension locking mechanism — instead of conventional friction-dependent solutions. Once bolted joints tend to loosen, the unique wedge geometry generates strong jacking tension that restricts bolt rotation, delivering permanent secure fastening.

Must be used in pairs (matching wedge surfaces). Outer radial teeth provide biting grip, while inner inclined wedges transform rotational loosening into axial clamping force. Effectively replaces ordinary spring washers and nylon lock nuts, and allows repeated disassembly without performance loss.

⚙️ Working Principle

Wedge-locking technology in pairs: When the bolt/nut is tightened, the radial teeth on outer sides embed into the clamped surfaces. Under vibration or impact load, the loosening tendency forces the two washers’ wedge surfaces to slide against each other. This generates a powerful axial expansion force that increases clamping pressure — effectively preventing any rotational loosening. Unlike split washers, this mechanical wedge system maintains tension even during severe shock loads.
